Biblical Principle

  • Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Luke 10:2 KJV
  • Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:   Matthew 28:19 KJV
  • So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.   Isaiah 55:11 KJV
  • And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.   Mark 16:15-16 KJV

Cynthia's Testimony

Cynthia Age 9 My testimony begins like many of yours. I was blessed as a child to come from a large family. I have 3 older sisters and 1 younger brother. My mom was the Christian leader in our home and I am so thankful to her. My dad was not a Christian and did not get saved and baptized until I was an adult.

As a child, I spent many weekends and lots of weeks in the summer at my Aunt Mary Ruth and Uncle Cecil's house in Lawley, Alabama. They had a daughter, Donna, who was about my age. We had wonderful times at her country home. On one of these summer visits in 1968 their church, Friendship Baptist Church, was having a summer revival. My aunt played the piano for the church and we attended the service every night. From the very first night of the revival, as a nine year old child, the Lord was dealing with me. On the third night, my cousin and I were both saved. The very next night, my Uncle Cecil was also saved. What a glorious time for us. I was baptized the next week in that church. I remember many Sunday School classes, Saturday night singings, homecomings, and wonderful services at that church. I thank the Lord for the influence this precious family had on my life!

Cynthia 1977 I continued to attend church through my childhood and into my teenage years. However, I was not walking consistently with the Lord. I graduated from high school in 1977. I married at a very young age. My daughter, Melissa, was born in 1978. My son, OV, was born in 1980. My youngest son, Nathan, was born in 1989. Melissa is now married to a wonderful man, Jay, and they have 2 beautiful daughters, Gabrielle and Gracie. They live in Tuscaloosa and they make the Lord, lord of their life. OV and his son, Joshua live in San Diego, California as he is serving in the United State Marine Corp. Life away from family has been a challenge for them. My youngest son Nathan lives in a nearby town and is a hard working country boy. I am very proud of them all. As I became a parent, I realized how important God was to me and I strove be teach my children about the love of God and His importance in their lives.

Cancer Survivor That is just a little background of my life. I had no great ups or downs until the year of 2004. I was going about my own business, living my everyday routine life. In the month of May, I went for my yearly checkup, which included a mammogram. Needless to say, the news was not good. I went from minding my own business to continually waiting for the telephone to ring to get the news. Each time the news was not good. The mammogram had detected a small mass in my left breast. After a needle biopsy and a lumpectomy my doctor advised a mastectomy. So from the time the mass was found in May until my surgery and my first reconstruction surgery in July I lived in a state of fear. Now I know what the Bible says about fear, but satan was at work and I was living daily in fear. I was thinking the worst of thoughts. I was doing all the "woe is me" stuff. I was busy telling God all the things I needed to be doing and how my family needed me (as if He didn't already know). The control that I thought I had on my life completely vanished.

Fast forward to my surgery in late July and my doctor coming in on Day 3 and telling me that all the tests showed that they had gotten all the cancer out and I would not need any chemo or radiation. None! Not to discredit my doctors, because I had some wonderful ones that I believe God sent me to, but Praise the Lord! I began to see the Lord's hand on my life. It had been there all along, but I had let fear (satan) influence my heart. God took my recovery time to reassure me of HIS control in my life, not just during this time but before and after. I am cancer free with no ongoing problems and with the promise of the Lord that He will take care of me always!

When I met Jerry I knew he was a rare find. The Lord has blessed us with a happy life together. Now God has laid it on our hearts to do a work for Him and we are doing it. We ask for your continued prayers and support for we are nothing without them.
